When treating children and adolescents age-appropriate criteria as well as their social environment, especially the importance of their primary psychological parents, need to be considered and integrated in therapy planning. For this reason parent counseling is an indispensable integral part of child therapy, sometimes also of adolescent therapy.

Therapy helps children to learn how to increase their self-efficacy and coping competences. New experiences help them to cope with difficult feelings and situations and to gain necessary behavior, problem solving and self-control capabilities. Parents or important psychological parents receive instruction to be able to support this process.

Child and adolescent psychotherapy is sensible for the following problems:

  • Attention deficit and hyperactivity disorders (ADS/ADHS)
  • Aggressive behavior, social conspicuousness, mobbing
  • Social insecurity
  • School anxiety, Separation anxiety
  • Anxieties and compulsive acts
  • Enuresis/enkopresis
  • Tic disorders
  • Eating disorders
  • Depressions
  • Psychic learning disabilities and inefficiencies
  • Psychic problems after traumatic experiences
